The Stop Popping Foundation was created in conjunction with the Stop Popping Project, to assist in the creation and distribution of the Stop Popping message and to help those who have become victims of Opiates. Recreational use of prescription drugs is a serious problem with teens & young adults. National studies show that a teen is more likely to have abused a prescription drug than an illegal street drug. Above all others the drug of choice is the Opiate pain pill.
Prescription drug abuse is a problem many people are becoming aware of today. The misuse & abuse of prescription medications in the United States remains high, but few people are aware of just how big the problem really is. The Stop Popping Project was created to heighten the level of awareness of just how serious opiates are.
We have created a prescription drug awareness program to bring this message to the schools & Universities across the country. The Show is a 1 hour plus multimedia presentation aimed at today’s youth to instill in them the seriousness of Prescription Drug Abuse. Its based on testimonials from Pill addiction survivors & victims with only months to live. We will include both celebrities & every day Americans who have fallen to this addiction proving that no one is immune to being a victim of addiction.
This is a fact filled hard hitting in your face presentation hosted by a staff comprised of persons who have lost friends & family to this National Tragedy. Some of the images are medically graphic & could be upsetting to younger or sheltered viewers, but necessary to show the true dangers.
This show will be on the road, traveling in your region, bringing your company image along side the shows message to nearly 1 million people a year in the Jr & Sr High Schools, Colleges & Universities as well as corporate events. The Stop Popping Foundation was created to assist in the dispersal of this message to today’s kids before they become addicted to Opiates.
In assembling our presentation we also discovered a huge need in assisting addicts with getting basic help and treatment. Many either have the wrong insurance and wont be allowed to take part or they are told that their habit is not bad enough for the program and they were left to fend for themselves. So we decided that we would be a stop gap measure to see that treatment is covered and given. There is no bigger crime than when you have hit rock bottom, you are told your bottom is not low enough, come back when you are taking twice as much.
We also discovered that the desire to change is only the start. If the addict really wants to change they need a safe and friendly environment to recover in. An environment with an onsite counselor and security to keep dealers and chances of relapsing to a minimum. So are plans are to rehab older hotel/motels and create halfway house style Living Centers that they can rent while they work through their addiction.
Please dig down deep and help us prevent and treat Opiate addiction, before this national epidemic strikes down a friend or loved one. We are a Non Profit 501 (c)(3) so every Dollar you donate is a tax deduction. Our success is in your hands.
